Here’s a simple checklist you can review before you leave for your appointment:

  •  Valid, government‑issued photo ID

  •  The complete, unsigned document (unless told otherwise)

  •  Any written instructions from your lender, attorney, or company

  •  All required signers, each with their own ID

  •  Witnesses, if needed (and their IDs)

  •  Payment for notary and travel fees

  •  Any supporting documents related to the signing

  •  Your questions answered ahead of time by the document preparer or attorney

Arriving with these items helps your notary complete the process quickly and correctly, so your document is ready to be used right away.
